What the hell has gone wrong with society that even Hermes is now offering couture shower thongs!!! ???? I live in a college town, and I suppose dorm living allows many fashion flaws to fester, but the flippity floppity of shower thongs in public has just gone too far. (This stupid girl came to a job interview in shower thongs. What in the hell??????)

Tue, November 15, 2005 - 12:57 AMYour feet, darling. To prevent ya from picking up any other icky things your roommates or dorm mates might have left behind(athelete's foot, mainly).

Re: Shower Thongs
Tue, November 15, 2005 - 1:00 AMNow wait just a minute. Thongs are *quite* comfortable, and who is to say they are any less fashionable than those stupid Nike Air Jordans? I happen to like a nice pair of toes, thankyouverymuch! I wear thongs a ton, and have gotten plenty of compliments on them. Of course, I would NOT wear them to an interview.
There is a difference between "Shower thongs" (the rubber ones sold at old navy during the summer), and regular thongs(ones presumably of nicer materials-leather, ribbon, etc., and sometimes decoration) -

Re: Shower Thongs
Tue, November 15, 2005 - 9:32 AMright, i wear those in public gyms mainly to prevent picking up fungal infections. definitely leave them at home for job interviews. unless the interview is at the gym, but that hasn't happened. -

Re: Shower Thongs
Wed, November 16, 2005 - 7:00 AMMy husband will only wear thongs, even if it's cold (no snow)! His feet get too hot...he has a nice pair of faux alligator leather ones he adores. I personally hate them for myself, cuz they always give me a blister inbetween my toes!!
